Women and distance education

The trend that I am noticing in the workforce and among students is more adult females going back to school in United States and adult minority female learners are increasing. In nursing also, many older adult females who had other jobs are returning to nursing as their second career.Many barriers and chains are broken by women to pursue higher education.According to national center of education statistics, females are expected to account for the majority of college students, about 11.5 million females will attend in fall 2015, compared with 8.7 million males (Derpartment of of education, 2015).

Social media also offers connecting outside the four walls of colleges and women can stay connected and they can create a professional voice and enhance their ability to attend schools online even if they are geographically disconnected (Schmitt, Sims-Giddens, & Booth, 2012).
